What does this site do?
This site helps users to retrieve rebate information automatically from various rebate centers and consolidate them in one place. Instead of going from site to site, you will be able to view them together.
There are quite a few rebate tracking services available, but you have to enter your rebate information by yourself. That seems to be too much work. You also need to update the status by checking various sites from time to time and update the status manually. With AllMyRebates.com, most of the manual work will be in the past.
How does the registration process work?
First, click on the "Register" link on the home page. You need to choose an ID and password for accessing this site. We also need a valid email address for your registration. After you agree with the terms to use the site and submit your registration, you will receive an email in the inbox of the address you provided during registration. You must click on the link in that email to verify your registration before you can log into our site.
I have too many rebates and I don't care about those that I have received checks. How do I remove them?
Select the rebates in the "Active Rebates" tab and click the "Archive" button. All the selected rebates will be moved to the "Archive Rebates" tab. If you delete automatically retrieved rebates, they will come back when you do the next refresh.
Will it really get all my rebates automagically?
Honestly, No. The site is still evolving. We will include more and more rebate centers for the time to come. You can see what rebate centers are included by clicking on the preference tab after logging in. You will probably find that most of your rebates are covered.
What about the rebates I just mail out?
For rebates that have not shown up from rebate centers, you can enter them manually and remove the manually entered items at a later time when they do show up. After logging in, click on the "Editor" tab to start adding a new rebate item. You can also use the editor to edit an existing rebate item.
I love this service, how much does it cost?
It is free.
What are the score numbers on top of the page?
The Count Score measures how successful you get the rebates by item count. For example, you filed 20 rebates and get 18 approved/validated/qualified, your score would be 90%.
The Amount Score is the same idea but calculating the rebate amounts for your success rate. For example, your total rebate claim is $1000 and you have $800 rebate approved/validated/qualified, your score would be 80%.
It is absolutely ok to manually adjust the rebate status if you know the rebate status from rebate center is incorrect, or AllMyRebate didn't detect the correct status. After all, if you are cheating, you only cheat yourself :-).
Best practices?
Although you may have many ways to use this site, it may be better if you know the intended usage.
- After logging into the site, please fill in your rebate search criteria on the Preferences tab. This information will be saved for you so you don't need to enter it next time when you log in. You can select the rebate centers you have or expect rebates. Uncheck the rebate centers you don't have any rebates to speed up your rebate retrieval. You can create multiple profiles in case you have different addresses or used a different name when filing rebates.
- Select the profile you want to refresh and click on the "Go" button to retrieve all the rebates from the rebate centers you choose on the preference tab.
- Some rebate status may be shown as "Unknown" right after being retrieved. Their status will be updated in the background. Give it a few minutes and you will see the updated status.
- All the new rebates are highlighted in green. You can archive rebates that you have received checks or you don't want to see. This will leave the Active Rebates tab clean with only your outstanding rebates.
- If you need to modify a rebate, click on the item's name link to start editing.
- To enter a new rebate that has not shown up from the rebate center, click on the "Editor" tab to start editing.
- When your new rebate shows up from the rebate center, you can merge the manually entered one with this new rebate. Select ONLY these two rebate items and click on the "Merge" button. The merge operation moves all the Date fields from the Manual item to the Retrieved item and the Manual item will be removed.
- To remove the highlight of items that are marked "New", "Update" or "Edited", select the items and click on the "Unmark" button. This helps you to quickly identify new rebate items or items with a status change in future searches. Note that items marked with "New" or "Updated" will be unmarked automatically when you sign in next time.
- To ignore any rebates so that they are not considered in score calculations, select the items and click on the Ignore button. Ignored rebates will be moved to the Archive tab and grayed out. To un-ignore a rebate, select it and click on the Archive button.
- To see a real-time rebate status from the rebate center, click on the TrackingID of that item (available for most rebate centers). Please enable popup windows in your browser!
- To remind you about a rebate, set a Due Date (in the editor) for that item. That item will be flagged "Past Due" when Due Date passes. To remove the highlight, extend the Due Date to a future date.
- If you want to add more rebate offer information for a rebate, click on the "more ..." link for that item. In the Rebate Offer editor, you can add additional offer related information such as rebate urls, dates. The information on the Rebate Offer tab is shared by all members.
